Five Star Agency Designation
The Five Star Agency Designation program is designed to give those insurance agencies that provide superior knowledge, service and value to their customers a designation that will distinguish them as one of the best.
The connotation of Five Star should be similar in nature to a Five Star restaurant, hotel, resort, etc.
The Five Star Agency Designation program is composed of five imperative parts:
- Customer Focus,
- Management/Leadership Excellence,
- Human Resource Excellence,
- Process Excellence and
- Product/Service Excellence.
These five parts are then further broken down into 17 criteria. Under each of these 17 criteria are sub sets that clarify what the agency should be doing in order to meet that criteria’s mission.
An agency can only attain a Five Star Agency Designation by taking and passing a rigorous fitness review of the insurance agency. A fitness review entails a team going into an agency and interviewing all employees within that agency. After all employees have been interviewed, the team meets and discusses their findings on each set of criteria. A report is made on the strengths and areas of improvement that the agency has and grading takes place on each one of the criteria. If an agency reaches a set point value they attain a Five Star Agency Designation and are recognized at being a world class organization. To maintain that designation, an insurance agency must retake the fitness review every three years.
