George Doherty

President

As President of the Corcoran & Havlin Insurance Group, George leads the Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits businesses, as well as managing relationships with his business and personal insurance clients.

George joined Corcoran & Havlin in 1995, and brings over 35 years of experience in providing risk management services to clients. His responsibilities have included overseeing sales, marketing, client service, and agency operations.

George currently sits on several insurance company agency council boards advising insurance carriers, is a past Board of Director of the Massachusetts Association of Independent Agents, and a corporator of Dedham Savings.

Prior to joining Corcoran & Havlin, George worked for Chubb Insurance and national insurance broker Willis Towers Watson. George is a graduate of Holy Cross College (BA) and carries an MBA from Babson College, along with the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters. He has also achieved the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designations from the National Alliance for Insurance.

While not at work, George values spending time with family and friends. George also enjoys participating in sports, including running (completed 15 Boston Marathons) golf, and tennis. He has coached numerous local youth sports teams. George lives in the western suburbs of Boston with his wife Lauren and their 4 children.
